Rock Paper Scissors takes ten minutes, needs nothing but a smartboard and a child's own hands, and works three developmental processes at once. The countdown builds impulse regulation as children hold a choice until the cue. The board picks at random, so wins and losses carry no information about the child — unusually safe practice at losing. And because the class calls the cue while one child throws, everyone coordinates on the same moment, which is joint attention rather than parallel attention. An optional prediction beat between rounds turns the on-screen throw history into theory-of-mind practice. Built for Pre-K through grade 5, mixed-ability and neurodiverse-friendly, with alignment to competency and early learning frameworks in Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina.
