Let’s discuss book curation, classroom pedagogy, and children’s literature from some of the most amazing women voices this Women’s History Month. Here we highlight amazing female scholars, Louise Derman-Sparks, Rudine Sims-Bishop, bell hooks, and Audre Lourd who have written on the topics of children’s books showing us the pathway to adopt an anti-bias and anti-racist lens and greatly expanding our tools with which to curate impactful classroom or home libraries. Our interactive media module SABAR draws deeply from the writings of these scholars and archival historical footage to showcase themes and bring children a variety of literature that delights and engages them as readers and explorers of the world and its many people and wonders.
