Empanada Math Fiesta builds multiplication and equal groups skills across all three elementary grade bands — K–1, 2nd–3rd, and 4th–5th. Students step into the role of empanada chefs scaling a randomized recipe across multiple batches, working ingredient by ingredient through visual arrays to find each total. K–1 students practice skip counting by 2s–5s with an optional animated scaffold; 2nd–3rd graders solve multiplication facts up to 42; and 4th–5th graders tackle multi-digit multiplication with products up to 84. Because the recipe randomizes every round, the game is endlessly replayable. Tied to National Empanada Day (April 8) and culturally connected to Latin American food traditions, it works equally well as a whole-class warm-up, small-group station, or independent digital center — no prep required.
