It’s still the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese Zodiac, and there’s no better way to mark World Snake Day than by making your own snake puppet! Check out the craft instructions, template and video below created by our resident artist Nikita Lai Jing Tse.

While crafting, it’s a great moment to talk to your learners about the importance of snakes in nature. Did you know snakes play a vital role in keeping our ecosystem balanced? They help control rodent populations and support biodiversity—just one more reason to celebrate these often misunderstood creatures. Some snakes also help disperse seeds by consuming fruit-eating animals, indirectly supporting plant growth in forests and grasslands.

We’d love to see your creations! Send us snapshots of your completed snake puppet to info@thence.us to be featured on our socials or tag us on Linkedin or Instagram!
