Check out these amazing student-created, student-edited and student-approved stories below. These stories capture the beauty of the water cycle and so much more. STEM teacher Sylvester Boston led his classroom on a lesson that investigated TinkerTell, a classroom-friendly software that leverages generative AI, but then asks the students to create then edit, re-write and re-imagine how to present thoughtful stories, even on non-fiction topics like the water cycle.

Mr. Boston reported how TinkerTell is allowing a safe and productive environment for his students to experiment with AI and improve writing skills as they edit words, sentences and images. “They worked on the stories in groups until they were satisfied with the final narrative and pictures.” reported Mr. Boston. “One day’s group work resulted in three creative yet factual stories that illuminated different aspects of the water cycle.” he added. Click on the three buttons below to access, download and print the students’ stories. The creativity can continue with your children, as the printed activity books offer opportunities to add hand-drawn images.

The students’ next assignment will have them working individually on their own stories surrounding Earth Day. We can’t wait to read those stories too!
