Wormly the worm mascot

🎃 Wormly's Sentence Builder 🎃

Wormly dug up a sentence and scrambled the words! Can you put them back in order?

How to play
  1. The words of a sentence are scrambled in the dirt. Drag Wormly to a word (or use the arrow keys), or just tap a word. It hops into the next box.
  2. Put the words in order to build a sentence. It starts with a capital letter and ends with an end mark.
  3. At grades 2-5, choose Practice, Guided or Layers to see word classes and parts of a sentence in the boxes.
  4. Stuck? Use one of your 3 hints. Read each finished sentence out loud!

Wormly's Sentence Builder: Standards Alignment

Georgia  ·  Common Core  ·  New Jersey  ·  North Carolina  ·  Michigan  ·  New York

What this game practices: putting words in order to build a sentence at every level, starting a sentence with a capital letter and ending it with an end mark, the nouns and verbs at Beginner and K-1 (pictures help), word classes at grade 3 (noun, verb, adjective, article, pronoun, preposition and conjunction), and the parts of a sentence at grades 4-5 (subject, verb, direct object, prepositional phrase and more). Grade 2 is word order only. Beginner uses the same standards as K-1. Michigan lists the basic word classes at grade 1, so grades 2-3 review them. The sentence parts are an early look at Georgia grade 6. Draft tabs: Common Core, New Jersey and New York are drafts written from the Common Core wording, and their codes and wording will be checked before they are final.
