Complete Classroom Implementation Resource
ELA Activity - Letter Recognition & Spelling Practice for K-5th Grade
Wormly is an interactive spelling game that combines letter recognition, phonics practice, and fine motor skills development. Students help Wormly the worm collect letters underground and spell words by matching letters to shape-coded boxes.
This guide will help you implement Wormly effectively in your classroom or home and understand the assessment data it generates.
Each report shows:
| Metric | What It Means | Action Step |
|---|---|---|
| High attempts (4+) | Student needs letter-sound support | Focus on phonics intervention |
| Medium attempts (2-3) | Normal learning process | Continue current level |
| Low attempts (1-2) | Level mastered | Move to next difficulty |
What to look for in the report:
✅ Attempts per word: Don't worry if numbers are high at first! This shows careful thinking. Over weeks, you should see this decrease as they learn patterns.
⏱️ Time spent: Longer times are good - they show your child isn't guessing! Compare week to week to see growing efficiency.
📝 Words practiced: Review the list together. Ask: "Which was trickiest? What made it hard?"
💾 Save reports in a folder: Keep all reports so you can celebrate progress: "Last week 'jump' took 8 tries, this week only 3!"
